first day of sabbaticals.
chamber music: JAZZ!
it's was all a very refreshing and new experience for me as it's the first time i see such pro brass players or jazz players are string players or chinese orchestra players. (not that the people in our school are all that lousy) but ya! everyone in the video that mrs ee showed us was so pro and the enzembles were all something very new and alien to us, yet it all just seemed so right. the video on swinging bach is OH MY. I'VE NEVER SEEN SUCH PRO-NESS IN MY LIFE. i want to borrow the cd!!!! (: and 鬼戏 is very eerie and all but the sound effects and the experimenting of new and different sounds were really interesting and something new all together! the enzemble of a western string quartet with a chinese pipa player was really weird but it all fit in perfectly and everything was really an eye-opener for all of us. (:
then went for recess and had a darn hilarious session with qianwen kexin and liuyi and everyone else. omg qianwen was so darn self-satisfied with herself for spending 2 freaking hours on folding ONE PATHETIC FLOWER. omg. haha. (:
then after recess we went back into our groups to practice and dr macorome (is this how you spell his name?) came to coach. expereienced more of jazz and had a great fun laughing our heads of at our silly improvisations and our pathetic basics. omg dr macorome is such a pro bassist! and he says he's not a percussionist but thanks, he plays the drumset like he's one please. -.- so pro! (:
jannabel, ruimin and i are all hoping to play the bossa nova for concert on friday but dr macorome says the "now's the time" is a basic jazz which we all have to know so apparently we have to learn to play that too. :/
went for NYAA checking after school. (: tintin didnt realy check anything lah. just confirmed with us stuffs. guenyik and i have to find something to do for nyaa cip! ): library or inspire?
went out with qianwen, liuyi and yihui afterwards. qianwen the pig ran off to kap to EAT and made me wait for her at newton mrt station haha. ayeee. went to bugis street and yihui got a bag while liuyi tried looking for her jumper. we finally found one at bugis junction in everlast but it was like 80 bucks! ): marvelled at samuel and calvin! haha my heaven! love their style but never really got anything from there so. :/ qianwen and i were looking around more for accessories and bitching about some people we know. ayeee. it's normal haha.
came back home with yihui and i found out how up to date or ahead of the news she's been. oh my she's so updated lah. haha.
managed to make people do wenqi's survey! i realised actually i have alot of guy contacts on my list but none of them whom i really talk to :/ in the end i didnt manage to get alot but someee. ): sorry wenqi! =x
i just remembered something really hilarious during the masterclass we had with mr okamura! he told us that during the SYF judging, lawrence siao announced our school and he went "band no. #### Nanyang Girls' High" and mr okamura went "what?! NINE YOUNG GIRLS HIGH?"
haha! omg so freaking hilarious. and he was like "the band must be pretty small then!" HAHA. omg i almost died of laughter!
going out on wednesday to arab street! going to get materials for our online shop since lynn cant make it :/ i want to start soon! (;
i need a job! ): there's one at city link's gelare and one at IMM's giordano but i dont know whether i should go for it or not. yihui help me check kay! (:
